My report for day 8 & 9 the traffic competition
My Google Analytic Stats can be viewed here for the 25th & 26th Dec
http://kotobot.com/gastats/gastats2526.pdf
I find forums give me 2 advantages one is traffic and the other is learning.
As you all probably know you do not put your url into the post or you will find your self getting booted off it.
What you do is add your URL in the signature and as Alex Jeffreys has told us when we open a thread or answer a thread we keep it relevant and of value.
When we do this we have a better chance of someone clicking your link and hopefully taking action on your blog.
There are many forums out there; I have listed three below
But you will find loads if you Google with keywords like:
Traffic Forums
Internet marketing forums
Etc…
I post on about 50 forums; I try to visit each of them once a week and post.
From now on I am going to apply Alex’s 80/20 rule so that I can identify the one that are sending traffic.
Website Traffic Forum

Ultimate Traffic Forums

Internet Marketing Forums

Keep well and prosper

Hi Jim
Thanks for dropping over to my blog.
Nearly 2000 visits in one day?! I don’t know how that compares to other blogs but to me that is undreamed of at the moment!
I was really pleased with my total visitors of 53!
Still as Alex says, we all start with nothing and add one by one.
I guess I have a long way to go yet, but hey I’m enjoying the journey. If I go a bit slower by the country roads I can appreciate the scenery more than on the motorway!!
That’s my theory anyway. I’m sure that I’ll get there in the end..
Here’s to and exciting and prosperous 2009.

That’s a huge amount of traffic Jim, well done mate.
Is that from since we started the coaching program or have you had this site up a while now?
Is any of that paid traffic?
Cheers,
Carl.

Hi Carl
Thanks for your visit and comments
In answer to your question: I only started and published the site on the 5th Dec.
But I had a number of other sites which I added the opt in box to and gave them all a different tracking tag.
I also had another list for list building, which I have been building over a year now, so I also send them Alex’s offer.
I suppose up to now I have been old fashioned when it came to blogs, twitter, face book etc…
Always taught they were for young people, Alex and ye guys opened my eyes to that.
As for paid traffic, it makes about as much sense as a turkey booking a holiday for January.
And from reading your blog I think you agree.
But like most of us Irish, there is an exception to the rule:
Google Adwords can produce targeted traffic, provided you have the right key phrases and your site optimised properly,
But of course this can get costly and we need to keep a close eye on ROI.
One place I will spend money on a regular basis is offline advertising, newspapers, magazines, and do not forget buy and sell.
I always get a return on investment of 2 to 4 times the ad cost, with a simple 2 liner
My blog post to day will be about offline advertising.
Keep well & prosper
Jim

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the great posts on your blog and for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I’ve added you to my blog roll and I appreciate you doing that for me. I learned from your post and will be following your example of posting on the forums like you’ve done so successfully. I can’t believe how much traffic you’re getting already! That’s very impressive, keep up the great work!
Happy New Year!
Kevin
